Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Colander ("the app"), operated by Andrea Tralongo, a sole trader in Victoria, Australia. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The service
Colander is an iPhone app for planning and drafting content: scheduling posts, writing captions and voiceover scripts, keeping versions of them, and saving related links.
Colander is free to use, with some features available only with Colander Pro (see section 4). We'll keep updating the app, and we'll let you know in the app about any significant changes.
2. Your Apple ID and iCloud
- Colander has no accounts of its own. It stores your content in your iCloud account and syncs it between devices signed in to the same Apple ID, so you need to be signed in to iCloud for syncing to work.
- Your content uses your iCloud storage. If your iCloud storage is full, changes may not sync until you free up space.
- You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID and devices secure. Anyone who can access your Apple ID can access your Colander content.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
Your use of iCloud is also governed by Apple's own terms. How the app handles your information is explained in our Privacy Policy at getcolander.app/privacy.
3. Your content
You own what you write. Titles, captions, voiceover scripts, notes and any other material you create in the app remain yours. We claim no ownership of it, and because it lives in your iCloud account, we cannot access it.
You are responsible for your content, including making sure you have the right to use anything you put into the app, and that it does not break any law.
Links to other websites. When you save a link, the app may automatically fetch that page's title and icon to display alongside it. You can edit the title at any time. Linked websites are not operated by us, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or how they handle requests from your device.
Keep your own copies. The app provides a CSV export in Settings → Account & Data. We recommend using it periodically. We are not a backup service, and we cannot recover content that has been deleted from your iCloud account.
4. Colander Pro
Free and Pro. Colander is free to download and use. The free version holds up to 10 posts and uses the starting set of categories and statuses. Colander Pro adds:
- unlimited posts
- importing posts from a CSV file
- creating, editing, reordering and deleting your own categories and statuses
- colour themes (including a matching Home Screen icon)
We may add Pro features over time.
Plans and prices. Pro is available as:
- Pro Monthly, an auto-renewing subscription billed every month
- Pro Yearly, an auto-renewing subscription billed every year
The price for your country, including any GST or sales tax that applies, is shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy.
Pro Forever is a one-off purchase that gives you Pro with no further payments. It is not currently on general sale: we may offer it by invitation, using an App Store offer code. If we sell it more widely later, its price will be shown in the app before you buy.
Buying through Apple. All purchases are made through the App Store with your Apple Account. Apple, not us, takes payment and handles renewals, cancellations and refunds, under Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. We never see your payment details.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, and your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours before the period ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before then. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in the app (Settings → Manage Subscription) or in your device's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Switching plans. You can switch between Monthly and Yearly in your subscription settings. Apple decides when the change takes effect and handles any adjustment.
Price changes. If we raise a subscription price, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before you're charged the new price. If you don't agree, your subscription won't renew.
Family Sharing. Pro Monthly, Pro Yearly and Pro Forever can be shared with up to five other members of your Apple Family Sharing group. Each person's content stays in their own iCloud account and is never shared.
Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If your Pro access ends (for example, a subscription lapses or a purchase is refunded), your content stays yours and stays in your iCloud account. Nothing is deleted. Pro-only features stop working: you can view and edit all your posts, but can't add new ones while you have 10 or more; your categories and statuses can no longer be changed; importing is unavailable; and the app's colour theme and icon return to the default. Everything comes back if you resubscribe.
Beta testers. People using a test version of the app (TestFlight) get Pro features free while testing. That access is temporary and ends when the test version stops working.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the app for anything unlawful.
- Attempt to access another person's content.
- Attempt to breach the security of the app or of Apple's services through the app.
- Try to get around the limits of the free version, or unlock Pro features without paying for them.
- Reverse engineer the app except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the app working but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The app depends on Apple's iCloud and App Store services, and outages or changes on Apple's side will affect it.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date at the top and, where the change is significant, let you know in the app.
8. Ending your use
You may stop using the app at any time. To remove your content, delete it from Settings → Account & Data in the app, or from your device's iCloud storage settings. Deleting the app alone does not delete your content from iCloud.
If we ever stop offering the app, we'll give you notice where we can. Your content stays in your iCloud account, and a copy of the app already on your device keeps working with it for as long as your version of iOS supports it, including any Pro you've paid for.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
